A Winter Release That Wasn’t Supposed to Happen… But We’re Glad It Did
This year, we didn’t plan on releasing a Christmas coffee. But then we tasted this lot - and instantly knew we had found our winter substitute. Bright, tropical, sweet, and unexpectedly festive, Arctic Haze brings warming indulgence and playful energy to cold winter days.
Juicy mango, ripe tropical fruits, and silky toffee sweetness come together in a cup that feels both comforting and refreshing—like a warm glow cutting through frosty air.
Cup Profile
Expect a cup that’s juicy, rich, and vibrant with tropical complexity. Think of it as winter sunshine in a cup. Your New Winter Favourite. Limited, expressive, and absolutely delicious, it’s the kind of coffee you keep reaching for on cold mornings.
The Farm: El Jaragual
Grown at 1500 masl in the lush Andes of Antioquia, El Jaragual is a 150-hectare family-run farm owned by brothers Jonny Martinez and his brother and managed by their cousin, famous producer Jorge Mira. Jorge’s background as a forestry engineer is evident across the landscape: native forest is preserved, pine is grown sustainably, and the coffee thrives beneath plantain and diverse agroforestry shade.
The family cultivates seven coffee varieties—from Caturra and Castillo to Pink Bourbon and Gesha—and is planting new, rarer cultivars such as Sidra, Laurina, Eugenoides and Typica Mejorado.
Processing: Thermal Shock Washed (Simplified)
Arctic Haze’s tropical, fruit-forward profile comes from Jorge Mira’s careful, innovative process:
- Ripe cherries are selectively harvested and cleaned.
- The coffee undergoes controlled fermentation with added yeast to boost fruit sweetness.
- It’s washed at different temperatures—warm, then cold—to lock in bright, tropical flavours.
- Finally, the beans are gently dried and stabilised to preserve clarity and sweetness.
The result? A lively, tropical cup with the richness and warmth perfect for winter.
