A Family's 45-Year Journey
For 45 years, the Pedra Branca property has been a cherished part of Luciano's family, with each passing year adding to its rich history. The farm's origins are deeply rooted in family, with Luciano's grandfather, José Braga de Oliveira, leading the way. From the age of 15, Luciano worked alongside his father and grandfather, learning the art of coffee cultivation.
The Birth of Specialty Coffee
Fifteen years ago, Luciano discovered the potential of specialty coffee in his region. Driven by curiosity and a desire to elevate his family's legacy, he embarked on a journey of research and innovation. In 2002, his dedication paid off with his first harvest of Yellow Catuaí specialty coffee, achieving an impressive score of 85 points.
More Than Just Coffee
Coffee is the lifeblood of Luciano's family, providing both livelihood and a deep connection to their heritage. Passed down from his grandparents, the tradition of coffee cultivation holds immense sentimental value. Luciano's vision for the future includes enhancing the farm's resources and soil, expanding his harvest, and continuing to focus on producing exceptional specialty coffees.
A Commitment to Quality and Tradition
The Pedra Branca property has grown year after year, with the family always acquiring small amounts of land, to increase production. The family has always worked in a very harmonious way, respecting the patriarch, his grandfather José Braga de Oliveira.
Luciano discovered the potential of the region, 15 years ago, when other producers showed him the fertile soil. After much research, his first specialty coffee, Yellow Catuaí, scored 85 points. Coffee is everything to Luciano, the main source of income, and a sentimental tradition. He plans to improve the farm, and expand it, always focusing on specialty coffee.
